This set up is based on setting your Casio referee watch for the FIFA fitness Test 2
We will set up the watch for the WPL/State League 2 & 3 referees as an example. For other panels alter the times that are required of you.
This test requires a run of 150 meters in 35 seconds with a walk of 50 meters in 40 seconds this is to be completed 20 times or ten (10) laps of the running track; see diagram for further instructions here.
Click on your watch to download the Instruction manual, go to the countdown timer page the manual. You only need to set the watch for 2 settings Interval 1 INT1 the 35 second run (the run) and Interval INT 2 the 40 seconds walk recovery (the walk).
It is very important to set the watch to auto repeat INT 1 and then the walk time INT 2 is all we need.
What your watch will do when your start it. GO! Press the start button your watch will start to count down from 35 secs when you reach zero (0) the watch will beep informing you should have been at your target (cones at 150 meters).
Your watch then automatically starts to count down from 40 seconds this shows you how much recovery time you have whilst walking 50 meters, upon reaching zero (0) it beeps again whilst starting again to count down from 35 secs (off we go again 150 meters).
The watch indicates how many of these sets of INT 1 & 2 (auto repeat indicator) you have completed shown by a small numbers next to the time eg 00:40 03. The
Indicator counts up after every set of 1 &2 your aim for this test is 20 sets (10 laps)
This is a wonderful tool to assist you both in training and the test, it is available frm our Referee Shop.
The test is not an easy one. You need to start now to condition yourself for a successful result. Feel free to call on send and email if you need help or advice.
