I have seen more than a fair share of congratulations to numerous referees on this wonderful web site but we are one short today. It not really the owners fault because he is never one to blow his own trumpet. But it would certainly be remiss of me not to celebrate his success!!!!!

BUT THE WORD IS NOW OUT AND IT’S OFFICIAL

One of FFV’s own, Hary Milas, is off to Milan, Italy to referee in the homeless world cup!!!!

My first meeting with Hary was courtesy of Stan Koulousias, put me on to him after I saw these flash cards he was writing on. He then gave me this card “Refsworld” and of I went to buy some – absolutely the best 10 bucks I’ve ever spent, but that’s another story altogether.

My next meeting was less a meeting and more a coincidence. On a hot Melbourne day in December I took my 4 kids to the homeless World Cup in Fed Square – One because we all love Football and two because it was free.

Sitting watching from the stands I saw a couple of referees come and go and then this face I knew. After a quick wave he beckoned me over and took great delight in talking with my 4 very impressed kids. Do you know him Dad? Well sort of – Dad he’s pretty nice – how right they would prove to be.

Hary, my kids have never forgotten that day and to learn today that your invitation to Milan had come through – awesome buddy. We are all really chuffed for you.
